Alexis Carpenter, Ph.D.

Alexis Wells Carpenter, PhD is Chief Scientist at AxNano – an environmental venture studio that develops and scales products targeted at solving issues around contaminated water. Dr. Carpenter has a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill, and a Post-Doc appointment in the Superfund Research Program at Duke University. She joined AxNano in 2015 and has lead the technology development efforts of AxNano’s first commercial product offering – RemRx® controlled release oxidants for groundwater remediation, and expanded AxNano’s R&D work into emerging contaminants such as PFAS. Dr. Carpenter and her team have secured >$4M in SBIR/STTR funding from NIH, NSF, NASA and DoD.
