Mark Jenkins
Patent counsellor Mark Jenkins provides legal counsel on the intellectual property initiatives of his clients. He advises on international patent portfolios and applications, as well as coordinates the legal strategies for companies requiring assistance with both opinions and due diligence associated with the financing, sale, and acquisition of intellectual property assets.
Mark brings significant industry experience to assisting chemical and biotechnology clients with patent prosecution, due diligence reviews, freedom-to-operate analyses, validity analyses and post-grant proceedings in the U.S. and abroad.
He represents a variety of individual and business clients in the pharmaceutical, crop science, petroleum additive, polymer, and personal care industries. Notably, Mark has developed particular skill in working with tissue-banking and biotechnology companies in the emerging area of regenerative medicine, where he is regularly called upon to develop and manage patent portfolios as well as conduct related due diligence.
Mark takes pride in his responsiveness to clients and in his dedication to understanding their organizational objectives and market imperatives. He strives to stay ahead of technological developments and changes in the law in order to deliver multi-dimensional solutions in anticipation of change.
Prior to the law, Mark served as a product development chemist for a global absorbent product design company and an analytical chemist for a major healthcare corporation. This hands-on experience gave Mark much-needed perspective when it comes to product development and the protection of innovation as a business process.
